Wintershall Noordzee B.V. has awarded Scaldis the decommissioning of the L8-P in the Southern North Sea.

Scaldis succesfully and safely lifted topside, followed by the removal of the jacket.

Topside and jacket were transported to the disposal yard in the crane hooks and setdown on the disposal yard's quayside.

The scope included engineering, preparation, removal and disposal of the L8-P platform.

The execution of the works was divided in 5 phases:

1. Removal Plan & Removal Engineering (onshore)
2. Offshore Preparations (HLV Gulliver)
3. Platform Removals (HLV Gulliver) – consisting of topside and jacket removal
4. Seabed Cleaning & Survey (HLV Gulliver)
5. Disposal of all materials
