Scaldis SMC is proud to announce the successful transport and installation of the jacket and topside for the Thor Offshore Wind Farm, located in the Danish North Sea off the west coast of Jutland. As Denmark’s largest offshore wind project to date, Thor will have the capacity to generate enough green electricity to power over one million households.

This milestone project was awarded to Scaldis by HSM Offshore Energy in 2023. Thanks to the strong collaboration and seamless coordination between Scaldis and HSM, the work was completed safely, efficiently, and well within the planned schedule, with zero incidents or accidents throughout the operation.

Scaldis is honored to have contributed to this landmark renewable energy project and remains committed to supporting the energy transition through safe and innovative offshore lifting operations.

 

Scaldis Scope

  • Provide transport barge for Jacket & foundation piles & tow transport barge to site.
  • Provide transport barge for Topside & tow transport barge to site.
  • Provide Noise mitigation system & PDA during piling activities.
  • Position Jacket at the seabed.
  • Hammer foundation piles till penetration depth succeeded by grouting activities.
  • At top part Jacket legs: indicate Topside installation level, set Topside installation height by cutting remaining part away. Cutting operation succeeded by installation bevel for partly penetrated well at interface Jacket ↔ Topside.
  • Lift Topside onto Jacket.
