Wintershall Noordzee B.V. has awarded Scaldis the decommissioning of RAVN platform in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
Scaldis successfully and safely lifted the topside, including spacer frame, followed by the removal of the jacket. The topside and spacer frame were transported to the disposal yard on a transport barge, towed by a tug. After lifting, the jacket was transported to the disposal yard in the crane hooks. Following offloading of the jacket on the quayside, HLV Gulliver re-lifted the topside from the transport barge, for a final setdown on the disposal yard’s quayside. Spacer frame was offloaded by the disposal yard subcontractor.
The scope included engineering, preparations, removal and disposal of the RAVN platform.
The execution of the works was divided in 5 phases:
- Removal Plan & Removal Engineering (onshore)
- Offshore Preparations
- Platform Removals
- Seabed Cleaning & Survey
- Disposal of all materials
