Wintershall Noordzee B.V. has awarded Scaldis the decommissioning of the P6-A Platform in the Southern North Sea.
Scaldis successfully and safely lifted modules and topside, followed by the removal of the jacket.
After an extensive preparation scope with HLV Rambiz, the living quarter module and compressor modules where lifted from the P6-A topside onto a transport barge by HLV Gulliver for transport to Flushing. Inshore the modules were discharged onto decommissioning yard quay.
After module removal, the topside was lifted and transported in the hooks by HLV Gulliver to the disposal yard at Flushing where it could be directly set-down onto decommissioning yard quay.
After sailing back to site, the 8-legged jacket was lifted and transported in the crane hooks by HLV Gulliver to the disposal yard where it could be directly set-down onto decommissioning yard quay.
The scope included engineering, preparations, removal and disposal of the P6-A platform.
The execution of the works was divided in 5 phases:
- Removal Plan & Removal Engineering (onshore)
- Offshore Preparations (HLV Rambiz)
- Platform Removals (HLV Gulliver) – consisting of module, topside and jacket removal
- Seabed Cleaning & Survey (HLV Gulliver)
- Disposal of all materials
