ENI Energy Netherlands B.V. has awarded Scaldis the engineering, preparation, removal and transport (EPRT) contract of the G14-B platform located off the Dutch Continental Shelf.
The topside was lifted and positioned on a transportation barge offshore by HLV Rambiz. Special care was taken, as the topside is planned to be re-used.
Subsequently, the transport barge has been towed away to the topside load-in area in port.
The jacket has been lifted and removed by HLV Gulliver, transported to Vlissingen in the crane hooks, for delivery to the onshore decommissioning yard. Upon arrival in Vlissingen, the Jacket was positioned onto the disposal contractor’s quayside.
As a final operation, Gulliver lifted the topside from the transport barge onto the quayside, so it can be stored safely for later refurbishment and re-use.
The execution of the works was divided in 5 phases:
- Removal Plan & Removal Engineering (onshore)
- Offshore Preparation works
- Platform Removal
- Provision & manage transport barge & tug
- Out survey
